For an Active You Massage session you are the superstar. You are the reason we’re in the room – we got you covered!
Actual Treatment Time
1 hour = 60 minutes. The clock doesn’t start until you walk in the room and finishes when you walk out of the room. We allow 15 minutes between clients so we aren’t rushing you in and out and our therapists have time to process your payment, take their notes, make up the room fresh for the next client and have a minute to themselves.
That’s not the case for every business, many 1 hour bookings are only 50-55 minutes of time in the room with the therapist having no break before the next client – OUCH!
In our clinic, 30, 60, and 90 minute treatments last exactly as long as indicated. (Unless you’re late, then we may have to adjust accordingly so we don’t inconvenience the next client)
Our Undivided Attention
This is a great reminder that we try our best not to disturb your treatment to answer calls – but sometimes there is a pesky client who instead of leaving a message just calls and calls and calls until we answer. Don’t be THAT client – respect that we don’t have a full time receptionist and please just leave a message…
A Legit Business…
In Australia you do not need a qualification to call yourself a massage therapist – so plenty of those discounted massage shops are offering massages by someone who has had ZERO training. They are often international students who take the job for some side cash, but they aren’t doing it because they love it, it is just a JOB – so guess how good your ‘results’ will be…
We are passionate about helping you live your best life – which means we focus on outcomes – and are all fully qualified with a Diploma Remedial Massage. This is a 12-18 month full time course requiring a minimum of 200 hours physical massage training in a supervised student clinic. This also means we are registered to provide you Private Health Fund Rebates.
To keep our Private Health Fund Rebates we also have to maintain membership of a professional association, complete continuing education every year, keep current first aid certification and maintain minimum levels of insurance. These are the same sort of standards that apply to physios and other allied health professionals – we are serious about our profession!
If a therapist is operating without sufficient qualifications, their insurance may be voided (if they even have insurance) in the event of claim. That’s scary stuff right there.
Things to ALWAYS Avoid!
If they offer ‘happy endings’ they aren’t qualified! Avoid at all costs, unless that’s what your looking for then head over there as we won’t be going anywhere near your down there! Think we’re joking?!? There are so many of these places out there that it made SBS news
A massage is often just the start. You come in with an attitude that pain is normal, no-one can help you, been there done that, just give it a crack but you won’t be able to ‘fix’ me and I’ll keep going on complaining about life… But deep down this isn’t what you really want – we love restoring hope and opening you up to the possibility of what we can physically achieve with you – which can open you up to question what else is possible? Be inspired by stories of others who’ve decided to chase their dreams, incorporate more of what they love into their life and just generally learn to play and have fun again!
Clarity in Pricing
What we charge is clearly listed here.
There, I said it. We don’t like to talk about money, it’s supposed to be a private issue. But I’m addressing it head on. Regular massage is something that SHOULD be in your budget because your health is worth it and it’s important to acknowledge that.
No hidden costs, you pay the listed price. That’s it – there is no ‘extra’ for oils, dry needling, cupping or other specialties. No separate price for neck and shoulders, feet, arms, whatever – we’ll work on whatever areas are needed with whatever techniques are needed and charge only by the time you are in the room.
The only thing we charge extra for is initial consults because it takes more of our time to process a new client, we have to take all important notes and get them setup in our system.
Ease of Scheduling
You run a busy schedule, so do we! Most of our clients book their next appointment on the spot when they finish their last appointment. The result is popular times are booked out weeks in advance so if you don’t see a time that works for you please ask to be put on the wait list and book your next appointment before you walk out the door!
If you haven’t blocked out your next booking you can schedule it online right here – no need to find time to call!
Availability for 90 minute sessions can also be limited online, so give us a call on (08) 6248 2030 to see if we can squeeze in your longer session.
We’ve had multiple years of practice which leads to experience AND we also invest in many hours of continuing education. They were all just prep for your massage. To get you the best results we do:
- Awesome joint mobilisations that work wonders on shoulder and hip pain
- Epic stretches especially great for lower back pain and headaches
- Spinal mobilisations (not cracking) to ease back pain
- Functional release cupping to quickly release shoulder restriction, leg tension, tight glutes, planta fasciitis and many other areas normally painful to treat with little pain
- Deep and firm remedial massage techniques to actually get into all those trouble spots!
Plus a session with Scott might also include dry needling to quickly work deep into muscle tissue knots.
We won’t practice any techniques that are unsafe for you and your health condition. These are called contraindications. And we won’t mess around with them.
This is why we ask for a detailed health history – there could be something crucial we need to know about or something that won’t mean we need to turn you away but could take us down a different path of thinking about the cause of your problems instead of just the symptoms you notice.
High Quality Products
We only use the best products on your skin. The BEST. You won’t leave our clinic feeling slimy or drenched in oil. You won’t break out from a cheap fragrance or preservative.
Some therapists choose their products based on price. We’ve got our hands in this stuff for 20-30 hours a week, so we choose our products based on quality. Only the best for us!
We use Organic Cold Pressed Extra Virgin Coconut Oil because it is an excellent all natural moisturise and as an added bonus it is naturally antibacterial and antifungal! For anyone sensitive to that we also have Melrose H2 Massage Oil. We also use all natural Fisiocrem that contains Arnica for its anti-inflammatory properties and normally have a diffuser running natural essential oils in the clinic for a nice fresh smell!
Support a Small Local Business
There’s just me, a couple of therapists, part time administrator and my wife working administration when she isn’t at her day job! No conglomerate. No fancy management structure or corporate set up. Just a little business owner, paying taxes, making a living, supporting our local employees and participating in the same communities as we serve. There are fewer and fewer businesses that can stay afloat in an era of big box stores and amazon. When you pay for an active you massage, you can be certain that money is staying in the local economy.
Cheers, Scott Miotto
